I thought the comment about “family driven faith” versus “faith driven family” was perceptive. There’s one thing I keep coming back to with exalting the family to the center of the mission of the gospel: What about people who have no family? It seems they have a small part to play in Baucham’s model. I think it’s right for Baucham to reject our culture’s understanding of family, and even to raise the family up to a level where it is seen and appreciated. But it’s wrong to make it so central to everything the church does.
