Getty Music for Kids

by Jared Kennedy on January 20, 2009

Many of you are familiar with the music of Keith and Kristyn Getty.  Along with their frequent writing partner Stuart Townsend, they have given the church modern hymns like “In Christ Alone,” “O Church, Arise,” and “Beneath The Cross Of Jesus.”  You may also know about the Gettys’ upcoming concert and songwriting workshop at Sojourn’s home, The 930 Art Center on February 6th and 7th.

What you may not know is that the Gettys have their own children’s music album entitled Songs that Jesus Said. The Gettys plan a series of albums, which will incorporate key bible passages and stories into infectious new songs–that give children the big picture of the bible.

Parents may already be familiar with songs like “Stop and Think” and “Once Upon a Boat.”  We used them at our VBS: School of Word and Art this summer, and they were used for VBS at other churches in our city as well.  If you are interested in learning more, check out the album, sheet music, and lead sheets.
