School of Word & Art, Day 3–the one where a really fun VBS photo blog begins!

Post image for School of Word & Art, Day 3–the one where a really fun VBS photo blog begins!

It is hard to believe that we’re already halfway through the School of Word & Art.  Today we learned from the Bible about the COVENANT promises God made to his people–particularly the promise given to Abraham.

Thanks so much to Dan Canales who came by to take pictures today.  I’m so thankful for him and the fruit of his labors.  There will be even more great photos tomorrow, but today I wanted to feature some pics from our Opening Ceremony.  I’m so thankful for the very dramatic Princess Alexandra (Rebecca Pate) of Covenant Kingdom and her faithful servant Joey (Michael Etter), who have helped us in our opening assemblies this week.  In some of the photos, the kids are hiding from a very scary dragon that was threatening the safety of the kingdom today.

I’m also super thankful for the way that all of our servants have led our kids to be responsive worshipers.   Leading both in singing and responding to God.  This week has been  a great opportunity to lift up holy hands and teach our kids to worship God in song.

Hey Jared, we can’t get the pictures that you linked to pull up. We can see the embedded ones, but not the link-only ones. Any ideas? Thanks, bro!

LOL! Liam woke up from his nap today talking about a dragon. We thought he had dreamed about one. :)

Okay, I think it is fixed now. I’m not sure what went wrong the first time. They should have all been embedded.

Yes, Rachael is having nightmares. After this week, there is an official moratorium on VBS dragons! :)

Wow, we (“joey” and “princess alexandra”) feel terrible about frightening the children!
I hope we haven’t scarred them for life!

Seriously, it was the greatest cliff hanger ever. The kids were so excited when you put the dragon to sleep today!
