Get Involved!

The following service opportunities exist to help children of all ages learn about Jesus—his Word and his works.  If you are interested in serving in one of these vital roles, please complete this service application, and we will follow up within one week.

Classroom Teacher
Communicate biblical truth through creative, age-appropriate means. Extend the love of Christ by engaging children relationally while providing oversight in a SojournKids classroom.  Requirements: Love for kids, patience, experience teaching children, and ability to represent the church’s values while engaging with children.  If interested, contact Jared Kennedy.  Adults only.  Background check required. Serve on Sundays or Wednesdays.  Six-month or six-week commitment.

Classroom/Nursery Helper
Extend the love of Christ by engaging children relationally while providing oversight in a SojournKids classroom.  Requirements: Energy, kindness, patience and an eagerness to engage and befriend children. Adults and youth age 16 and up. Background check required. Serve on Sundays or Wednesdays. Six-month or six-week weekly commitment or six-month once monthly commitment.

Welcome Center & Hospitality Team
Welcome first-time guests at the SojournKids welcome centers and escort their children to their classrooms.  Provide a communication link between SojournKids classrooms and parents in the main meeting, alerting parents when their children need attention.  Requirements: Energy, kindness, joy and an eagerness to engage children and parents. Adults. Background check required.  Serve on Sundays or Wednesdays.  Six-month or six-week weekly commitment or six-month once monthly commitment.

SojournKids Music — Band Member
Use instrumental gifting and models Christian worship by leading or assisting Sojourn Kids music.  Requirements: Musical gifting (piano, guitar, voice or other instrument) and some experience.  Adults and youth age 16 and up.   Audition required.  Background check required.  Serve monthly on Sundays.

Supply Team
Provide the practical materials needed for SojournKids by purchasing supplies, washing linens and/or helping with paperwork and nametags on Sunday mornings. Roles: Supply, laundry, purchasing and inventory. Requirements: Experience in using washers and dryers and ability to pick up and distribute classroom supplies. Background check required. Serve midweek and/or Sundays.
