Sojourn East Campus Easter Celebration

What’s more fun than have 300+ members of the community join together on Easter? Try 300+ people, 3,000 Easter Eggs, 3 bounce houses, a firetruck, and 85 pounds of BBQ.

At Sojourn East on Easter Sunday, we celebrated the Risen Lord Jesus as a community and family. Over 300 people came on Sunday afternoon for a time to celebrate and play. We were fortunate to have a ton of great food from our Community Groups and 3 inflatable houses for the kids.

Sojourn exists to see the gospel transform lives. God through the message of the gospel has changed us and made us family. As apart of the family, we set aside times like this one to spend time with one another. Events like these help us promote unity in the family and to invite others to experience the love that binds us together.

Sojourn is passionate about the families of the Kentuckiana area. We want to equip families to live out the gospel and one of the ways we do that is providing opportunities for the family to be together.

Easter Sunday: Take Home Sheets

We recently celebrated Easter at SojournKids! We studied about how God raised Jesus from the dead. We learned that:

We should rejoice and not fear death…

…because Jesus is alive!

Here are the materials we developed for that Sunday:

Happy Easter!

This week at Sojourn we are celebrating Holy Week, preparing for Easter and a celebration of the Risen King.

We will celebrate at 3 of the 4 campuses with Easter Egg hunts.  There will be thousands of candy stuffed eggs ready for the hunt!

And, SojournKids knows that Goldfish are an all-time favorite snack for our kids.

And, as always, we have lots of great ideas on our SojournKids Pinterest Board.  Check it out!

Easter Sunday Invitation Coloring Pages

Directions: Simply click on the preview images above to download these free coloring pages as a printable PDF file. You can also download the sheets as a higher resolution jpeg image for advanced editing: “Cookie Sheet JPEG” and “Little Church JPEG”

The free coloring pages is intended for Palm Sunday services. Both pages feature the words, “Next Sunday is Easter. Will you come to church with me?”  Children should be encouraged to color the pages and think of two friends to invite with them to Easter services on the following Sunday. We’ll be using these on Palm Sunday during our SojournKids Bible classes.

If you enjoy this coloring page, please leave a comment below for Mandy. You can say thanks or share how you’ll be using this in your ministry.

You can also check out a similar invitation page that Mandy created for http://ministry-to-children.com

He is Risen! Come and Join Us for Easter 2012!

At Midtown and East, the Easter celebration for the kids will take place during the services.  At Midtown, get ready for a big party and some great art projects during the services!  At J-town and New Albany, there will be an egg hunt during the services with four thousand Easter eggs! At East, get ready for an “Egg”stravaganza with a family barbecue and egg hunt outside from 5pm until 7pm!

On Easter Sunday, we will study Matthew 28:1-10 and John 20:1-23.  We will learn that:

  • God raised Jesus from the dead just like he promised.
  • Jesus has beaten death.
  • We should rejoice and not fear death, because Jesus is alive!
