Photo Stream: Seeds Family Worship Event @ the 930
Hosting Jason Houser and Seeds Family Worship at the 930 last Wednesday night was a blast. We’re so thankful for an event that was both fun for the kids and worshipful. Tyler Ratliff, our Midtown Kids Music Leader, sums up the vibe with this testimony:
“I just had a super encouraging conversation with a kid from church who couldn’t be more than 10. She got a CD of bible memory songs tonight called Seeds of Courage because she’s sometimes afraid of storms and thinks it’ll help to listen to it. She especially liked the title of the song, “Do Not Be Anxious.” It comes with two copies and she wants to give one to her friend from school.” Continue Reading…
Seeds Family Worship at Sojourn on Wednesday, September 8th
We’re excited to announce that Jason Houser of Seeds Family Worship (backed by the Sojourn Music band) will be at the 930 Art Center on Wednesday, September 8th, at 6:30 PM for a FREE “back to school” family concert. Sojourn’s kids know the Seeds songs “Go” and “New Creation” from Vacation Bible School and kids worship on Sundays. I’m super thankful for the folks at Seeds and their passion–to equip parents to teach their children God’s Word. I’m super pumped that they will be joining us for this FREE event. Take a look at these great videos from Seeds, and join us at the 930 Art Center for the concert.
St. Patrick’s Day Children’s Music Liturgy on Mission
This month we just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to tell the story of Patrick, the child-slave-turned-Irish-missionary who provides an excellent example to the kids of several principles: God is with them in difficult circumstances, He will answer prayer, He saves people through Jesus, He helps us love our enemies, and He calls us to share the gospel with others. After last month’s St. Valentine’s Day lesson, and this month’s St. Patrick’s Day lesson, rest assured we’re not promoting the celebration of saints’ feast days; Patrick was just too good of an illustration to pass by. Who knows? Now when their classmates and friends are wearing green and pinching each other, your kids might just tell them about the real Patrick who preached the gospel to the people who enslaved him! If you want to read more on Patrick, the History Channel http://www.history.com/topics/who-was-saint-patrick has a very brief introduction on the more critical reading of his history. Here’s http://stpatricksday.com/history/stpatrick/confessio.shtml an account of his life in his own words. Here is the liturgy for this month:
